Steps to Become a Court Interpreter in New Jersey
Step 1. Get approved by the Court Interpreter Approval Program
- Pass the written exam
- Complete the orientation seminar
- Pass the oral exam

Step 2. Register to work in courts
- Register as a business with the Division of Revenue
- Complete the Judiciary registration forms
- Sign the Professional Service Statement of Work Proposal (PSSW).

Step 3. Gain experience
Most employers require at least 3 to 5 years of work experience in the industry.
