AppearMe Wins “Fan Favorite” Award at Glendale Tech Week

We are thrilled to announce that AppearMe is one of the awardees of the Glendale Tech Week event launched on September 14-21. The scalable startup that has revolutionized the way appearances, depositions and legal paper-work are covered received the “Fan Favorite” award at this exciting event.

When asked to choose their own favorite, the participants voted for AppearMe, a startup that aims to connect attorneys with other legal professionals in order to cover hearings or provide paperwork services.

“[Let me] explain a big secret about lawyers,” Hovanes Margarian, a co-founder of AppearMe,  said. “Lawyers are also people. They get sick, have families and get double-booked,” he said. “Currently, lawyers manually seek people to fill in for them when “life happens”, which can take two to three hours and may not be successful. AppearMe can reduce this time to 60 seconds,” Margarian said.

AppearMe was co-founded by two brothers of Armenian origin, Armen Margarian and Hovanes Margarian, and is actively recording success in the legal market.

A total of eight finalists were selected from a pool of over 60 applicants this year. Each finalist had the opportunity to pitch in front of an audience of over 100 people including investors and a panel of judges.  They competed for a $43,000 prize package. The finalists included:

Hovanes Margarian, AppearMe

Khalil Jammal, CareWell

Benjamin Benichou, Creative Bot, Inc.

Alexis Schomer, Expy Health

Ara Keshishian, PinpointEyes

Albert Stepanyan, Scylla

Luis Oda, TAGALONG

Benjamin Trammell, Tooth Fairy Stem Cell

The Pitchfest 2019 $43,000 Grand Prize Winner was Albert Stepanyan for Scylla. Albert Stepanyan is an artificial intelligence engineer and entrepreneur with a passion for coding. Scylla’s product suite connects with existing security-camera systems to detect faces, guns, and vehicles, and sends alerts if a threat is identified, Albert Stepanyan said during his pitch on Thursday afternoon. Stepanyan is coming from a military background and having experience building tech businesses. The technology aims to revolutionize the security and surveillance industry.
